I am Mel O’Neil, married to George. I promote choice, especially for people with communication difficulties. I have a puppy called Scarlett – the ElasticFM mascot. I left school with nothing, and, as a lone parent, trained as a nursery nurse. I trained in Makaton (signing) then got a humanities degree. I work with CQC and am a Fellow for the Centre for Welfare Reform, with papers published. I am trustee for IBK initatives and work with excluded children as a learning mentor. I love networking. My motto? “Treat people the way you want to be treated”.
